The Truth
Read the Declaration of Causes. The Civil war was fought over slavery whether the right to own other human beings is a state's right is highly debatable. But claiming state's rights as the cause only muddies the water. How many of those who died under that flag actually owned slaves? Not Many? How many who died under the American flag would have benefited from slavery being abolished? The South's landed gentry are the one's who needed to keep slaves for cheap labor for their agriculture economies. The only ones from the North who would have benefited from slavery being abolished were the industrialists who needed the freed slaves as cheap labor for the factories and to force the other races to accept lower wages. What do these two factions have in common. They both steal the labors of their workers by not paying the value those labors add to the final products. You know what else they have in common? They both never send their children to fight in the wars they start to enrich themselves. The problem was not slavery or state's rights but greed of the wealthy. Always has been, always will be if we continue to allow them to keep us divided in their "little wars": North vs South: Conservative vs Liberal: Republican vs Democrat: Faux Christians Vs Everyone else.
Now y'all elected the same wealthy business man who tried to make America into a Project 25 in his first term and is hell bent on setting up that oligarchical utopia in his first 100 days. Remember the only "fake news" is real news about them and what they are doing, that they do not want you to know.
